How much do bookkeeping services cost?
Bookkeeping is a fixed monthly fee by volume: $99 for up to 100 transactions, $199 for up to 300 and $399 for up to 750. A full-time dedicated bookkeeper is $1,950 a month. Software subscriptions are paid by you, directly to the provider, and the plan structure is set out on our plans page.
Do you provide full-service accounting and bookkeeping?
We handle the full bookkeeping cycle, from collecting documents to preparing financial statements. We are not a licensed public accounting firm and we do not file tax returns; your own licensed tax agent or auditor files from the closed books we hand over. Management accounting on top of the books is covered under our accounting services.
Is there a contract, and can we stop?
The service runs month to month. Give one month’s notice and we hand over a clean, reconciled set of books in your own software. Once a service month has started it is not refunded, because the work for that month is already scheduled and staffed.
Can we keep the books ourselves and have you check them?
Yes. We set up the chart of accounts, train your team in your own software, and then check the file on an agreed cycle, monthly or quarterly, so errors are found during the year instead of at year end.
Can you handle payroll as well?
We can set up cloud payroll that connects to your accounting software, and after each pay run we reconcile the bank statement against the ledger. Full payroll processing, payroll and HR compliance and employer-of-record work are separate services under the EOR menu.
Do you work in our accounting software or yours?
Yours. You keep the subscription, the login and the data, and our access is named and least-privilege. If you have no system yet, we open one in your name and hand over the credentials at the end of setup.
Who can see our financial data?
Only the named bookkeeper and reviewer assigned to your account. Access is least-privilege and removed when the engagement ends, an NDA and a DPA are signed before any record moves, and we do not export your ledger outside your own systems.
What if we have months of unreconciled books?
Catch-up is $79 per backlog month, confirmed once we have seen the file. We reconcile backwards one period at a time, list what cannot be substantiated instead of guessing, and start the monthly cycle only once the opening balances are agreed.
How do we switch from our current bookkeeper without losing data?
Nothing is migrated, because the ledger already sits in your own software. The handover runs in this order:
- You grant our named staff access to the existing file.
- We review the last closed period and list the open items.
- You remove the previous bookkeeper’s access.
- The first monthly cycle starts from the agreed closing balances.
What happens after we enquire?
A scoping call first, then paperwork, then access. In order:
- You send last month’s bank statement and your chart of accounts.
- We hold a scoping call and send a written scope naming the accounts, reports and delivery date.
- NDA and DPA are signed, and you grant named, least-privilege access.
- The first monthly cycle runs to its scheduled close date.
What does the service not include?
We do not audit, issue opinions, sign statutory accounts or file tax returns, because those are licensed activities. We also do not provide real-time or same-day reporting: the service runs on a fixed monthly cycle, so a figure needed mid-month comes from the last reconciled close, not from a live dashboard.
How soon do the first statements arrive?
At the close date of the first full cycle after access is granted and the opening balances are agreed. If a backlog exists, the catch-up engagement finishes first, because statements built on unreconciled openings would have to be restated. We do not promise a fixed number of days; the scope letter states the agreed close date.
Where is our data held, and under which law is the contract?
Your data stays in your own accounting software and document storage; nothing is copied to servers in Bangladesh. Our staff access it remotely from Dhaka under the NDA and DPA signed before work starts. The governing law is agreed in the scope letter, and UK or EU clients can have the DPA carry the transfer terms their regulator expects.
